DESCRIPTION
Abingdon Theatre Company is seeking Technical Director, Master Electrician, Stage Managers, and House Managers to join our team for our 32nd Season. Key dates are as follows:
Rehearsal Period: 02/17/25 - 03/08/25
Load-in: 03/11/25
Tech period: 03/12/25 - 03/15/25
Previews: 03/15/25 - 03/19/25
Opening night: 03/20/25
Closing night: 04/06/25
Ideal candidates should be organized and motivated individuals, with familiarity of Off-Broadway practice and procedure. Prior experience in these positions are preferred as is experience with a union work environment.
Technical Director will work with ATC on technical oversight, work with production manager and scenic designer on the bid process, shop build, load in, and tech notes process in the theatre as well as organize bringing on scenic load in and tech crew.
Master Electrician will work with ATC on electrical oversight, work with production manager and lighting designer on confirming channel hookups for lighting plot, load in, and tech notes process in the theatre as well as organize bringing on lighting load in and tech crew.
Qualifications:
- Experience in scenic/electric management is required.
- Working understanding of scenic/electric operations of a production.
- Time management, communication, negotiation, and creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, have flexibility, and be a team player.
Expectations:
- Consistent communication with designers and production staff.
- Being a point of contact for scenic fabricators/lighting shop.
- Attending regular production meetings with staff and designers.
- Being onsite for load-in, tech week, and load-out.
- Having consistent availability to come onsite for run of show fixes.
Stage Managers
Seeking: Equity Stage Managers for consideration.
Expectations:
- Knowledge, adherence, and application of all AEA rules and company policies.
- Manage the cast backstage and anticipate their needs for a safe performance.
- Communicate any show notes, changes, and information in an efficient and timely manner.
- Create rehearsal reports, show reports, and other reporting documents as required.
- Assist in creating schedules and timelines for performances and rehearsals as needed.

House Manager
Seeking house managers to guide our patrons at performances. Ensuring a smooth, welcoming experience for all. Ideal candidates are energetic, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced situations.
Expectations:
- Have appropriate fire guard certifications as required by the theatrical venue.
- Communicate with stage managers on house count and patron activity.
- Address any patron concerns or conflicts.
