About this career opportunity
Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, seeks a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to join our development team to help grow and steward relationships with individual donors, major donors and event supporters. The individual giving officer will report directly to the senior development officer of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and work closely with the founding director of DRA, Broadway Cares’ director of development and our individual giving team to strategize, coordinate, implement and expand DRA’s individual giving program and event fundraising.


Duties and Responsibilities
-Lead the fundraising strategy, growth and cultivation of donor relationship for DRA’s signature events, Fire Island Dance Festival in Fire Island Pines, NY, and Hudson Valley Dance Festival in Catskill, NY
- Manage, engage and cultivate a portfolio of approximately 300 DRA and Broadway Cares donors and prospects who have the ability to give $1,000+ annually
- Ensure that donors in your portfolio deepen their connection to Broadway Cares’ overall mission and are informed about DRA and Broadway Cares events and other opportunities in hopes of them renewing and increasing their support
- Identify donors in your portfolio with more potential to give, create a personalized engagement strategy and solicit and steward those relationships virtually and in person
- Plan and execute donor stewardship events and oversee invitations to these events
- Oversee DRA donor acknowledgements and listings for online and print publications
- Record notes and actions into Raiser’s Edge/NXT database and ensure accuracy of records and assist with tracking success and challenges
- Draft solicitation and acknowledgement letters and occasional foundation grant proposals
- Recruit and manage event committees for Fire Island Dance Festival and Hudson Valley Dance Festival to ensure success in meeting fundraising goals and building the audience for both of these events
- Strategize and facilitate ticketing, seating and email outreach with ticketing manager
- Partner with Broadway Cares Communications team to facilitate marketing opportunities for Fire Island Dance Festival and Hudson Valley Dance Festival
- Participate with full staff in facilitating Broadway Cares’ fundraising appeals on Broadway and Off-Broadway, which take place for two six-week periods in the evenings and on weekends
- Manage and mentor a summer development fellow with the possibility of extending the fellowship to a year-round program based on performance and organizational needs
- Be available to participate in person in numerous evening and weekend events and meetings


Qualifications
- 4+ years of fundraising experience
- Commitment to the mission of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
- Demonstrated ability to successfully maintain and utilize database systems
- Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Slack and Canva a plus
- Proven track record of soliciting and securing gifts of $1,000+
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve with effective follow-through
- Personal drive, initiative and creative thinking
- Grant-writing experience helpful but not required
- Willingness to assist, support and do whatever needs to be done for all fundraising events and in the work environment
- An appreciation of the performing arts
- An appreciation of Fire Island Pines and the Hudson Valley, its history and relationship to DRA & Broadway Cares
- An affection for dogs


Compensation/benefits
- Salary $65,000-$75,000

SALARY

$65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per hour
