DESCRIPTION

Auditions: November 21, 2024 at 327 South Main St. Pittsburgh PA 15220. Video auditions are also accepted, but in-person auditions are preferred. Callbacks will be IN PERSON ONLY on November 22 & 23, 2024.

Applicants should prepare :

1. Two short cuts in the style of the show. (Musical Theater, Pop or Rock and Roll songs are acceptable.)

4. A Headshot/Resume.

Currently Seeking:

Jesus UNDERSTUDY - MALE / Tenor- Protagonist of the story, leader of the twelve Apostles, and son of God, Messiah and King of the Jews. This text, Rice and Lloyd Webber's show is interested in Jesus as Messiah and man both, and not only his spiritual ministry, but also his personal experience and political role in the world.

Judas - MALE / Tenor- One of the twelve apostles of Jesus; concerned for the poor and for the consequences of Jesus' fame. A tragic figure, a conflicted man, and a powerfully passionate guy. Most certainly not a bad guy he's as desirous of being pure as Jesus is, and believes he is doing the right thing

Mary Magdalene- FEMALE/ Mezzo-Soprano- A female follower of Jesus who finds herself falling in love with him. She's a prostitute, and she tries in her way to care for Jesus, so there is tenderness, and desire, but this is a woman of great strength.โ€‚

Peter- MALE/ Tenor-One of Jesus' 12 apostles; denies Jesus three times upon the night of Jesus' arrest to save himself.

Simon Zealotes- MALE / Tenor- One of Jesus' 12 apostles; urges Jesus to lead his followers into battle against the Romans.

Caiaphas- MALE/ Bass- Joseph Caiaphas was the high priest of Jerusalem who, according to Biblical accounts, sent Jesus to Pilate for his execution.

King Herod- ANY GENDER/ Tenor- The King of Galilee; Jesus is brought to him for judgment after first being taken to Pilate.

Pontuis Pilate- MALE Baritone- Governor of Judea who foresees the events of Jesusโ€™ crucifixion from beginning to aftermath in a dream and finds himself being presented with that very situation. A man of his time and a leader capable of great brutality, yet also a man of a certain conscience.

Annas - ANY GENDER / Tenor- Fellow priest at the side of Caiaphas who is persuaded by Caiaphas into seeing Jesus as a threat.

Ensemble & Swings (All ranges and voice tvpes) will play such roles as soul girls, apostles, priests, soldiers, lepers, merchants, rioters, reporters, etc.โ€‚

First rehearsal: March 17, 2025

Opening: April 3, 2025

Closing: April 13, 2025

MAXIMUM WORKWEEK HOURS: 36

MAXIMUM DAILY HOURS (during rehearsal): 7 out of 8.5

NUMBER OF LONG REHEARSAL DAYS (10 hours out of 12): NONE

OVERTIME RATE: 1.5 times the contractual pro-rata per half-hour.

Equity Ratio: 5 Actors (inclusive of 1 Chorus Contract) not including the Equity Stage Management staff.

Equity Compensation: $690/week

Non-Equity stipend: $750-$1500.

No Housing or Travel Provided. Local (PITTSBURGH) Talent will be given precedence.
