Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), a Tony Award-winning nonprofit theatre dedicated to the production of contemporary plays and musicals, MTC seeks an experienced and knowledgeable Ticket Inventory Manager to become part of our team.
For over fifty years, MTC has been the creative and artistic home for America’s most gifted theatrical artists, producing works of the highest quality by American and international playwrights. MTC produces eight plays annually in Broadway's restored Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on West 47th Street and off Broadway at the historic NY City Center complex on West 55th Street.
The Ticket Inventory Manager is responsible for collaboratively working on the implementation and execution of Manhattan Theatre Club’s (MTC) subscription, single ticket, and internal ticketing operations that emphasizes customer service and operates in a financially reconciled and detail oriented manner. This role supports the ticketing needs of multiple internal departments while ensuring general public availability is maximized to meet sales goals. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of both the ticketing and subscription services environment, be aware of the principles of theatre-based customer service, possess the ability to enforce standards for the organization, and be able to work extremely well interdepartmentally with the MTC staff and the general public.
The position reports directly to the Director of Ticketing Services and fulfills ongoing reporting duties, as necessary, for the Marketing team. The candidate should have an understanding of and passion for MTC’s mission and ideals.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for creating event Start-Up Memo for the City Center & Friedman Box Office to manage event on-sales, which includes inter department seat holds, pricing, calendars, and ticket design; managing ticket allotments and inventory; and weekly availability data reporting.
· Interface with Broadway’s Samuel J. Friedman Box Office and with New York City Center’s Box Office as related to ticket consignment, purchases and programing matters.
· Contribute to key aspects of annual Subscription campaign, including renewal communications, order fulfillment, and seating.
· Assist in all Ticketing customer service related issues.
· Complete other, relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Experience in box office or subscription customer service
· Working knowledge of computerized ticketing software programs (including Tessitura and Telecharge Star Client)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel and Access.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills along with the ability to work independently and under deadlines.
· Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work variable schedules, including days, evenings and possible weekends.
This is a full time, salaried position paying $48,000 - $50,000 yearly with full benefits package including: group health insurance with options for spousal, family and/or domestic partner coverage, voluntary dental coverage, basic life and long term disability insurance, employer-funded pension, paid time off and optional 401(K) and flex savings plans for healthcare, dependent care and commuting expenses.
