SEASONAL Audio/Video Show Control Technician – Experience The RIDE, NYC
DESCRIPTION:
The Ride is a multi-media production that tours guests through midtown Manhattan on custom-built vehicles as an ever-changing live show featuring actors, performers, and everyday citizens unfolds on the streets before them. Our Audio/Video Technicians operate the on-bus audio, video, and lighting aspects of The Ride for all performances.
OUR TECHNICIANS:
- Run the show via a combination of computer applications including QLab, Lemur, and Isadora
- Mix the show's audio, including performer microphones and music via a DM1000 console
- Remain in constant communication with other members of the team during the show
- Add improvisational touches to the show
- Troubleshoot issues during the show with the help of the Dispatch Technician
- Help Dispatch Technicians and the Director of Production with other projects as needed when we are not running a show (such as repairing, replacing, testing, or inventorying gear)
Technicians do not have to be experts at everything. The Ride eagerly welcomes technicians from all disciplines of live entertainment, whether it be concerts, recording, broadcast, or traditional theater.
RATE OF PAY: This is a part-time position, starting at $26 per hour with paid training provided and potential to be promoted into a technical support position (Dispatch Technician).
AVAILABILITY & REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Must be available to work evenings and weekends. At minimum, 4 days a week including a Saturday or Sunday as well as Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Outstanding organizational and troubleshooting skills
- An approachable and friendly demeanor
- The ability to work well in high pressure, time-sensitive situations
- An eagerness to learn
- Comfort working in small, enclosed spaces (our tech booth)
- Knowledge of either basic audio, video, lighting, and/or show control signal flow is a must
- Experience with Yamaha DM1000 consoles, Apple Mac computers, basic networking, QLab, Isadora, and/or wireless microphone systems is a plus
- Stage Management experience is also a big plus

Holiday Performances are scheduled daily (Dark on Tuesdays) from 9:00am - 9:00pm starting Thursday, November 14, 2024 through Monday, January 6, 2025 with the possibility of continuing to work for The Ride through the Spring and Summer seasons next year.
