New York City Fringe Tech staff and coordinators

New York City Fringe (formally the FRIGID Fringe Festival) is seeking tech staff and tech coordinators for our April 2025 festival. These folks will join the team a little early to make sure we can hit the ground running when we get into each space and be responsible for the overall technical execution of the festival.

This is our flagship festival currently in its 16th year. It is an open, lottery-based theater festival that gives artists an opportunity to let their ingenuity thrive in an environment that values freedom of expression and artistic determination. In true support of the Indie Theater Community, 100% of box office proceeds go directly to the artists whose work is being presented.

Venues:

1) Under St. Mark’s Theater | 94 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10009

2) The Wild Project | 195 E 3rd St, New York, NY 10009

3) The Chain (Studio & Mainstage) | 312 W 36th St. 4th floor, New York, NY 10018

Tech Dates: March 31st - April 8th

Show Dates: April 2nd - April 20th

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Comfortable operating lights, QLab for audio and video, and livestream simultaneously throughout each show.

• Basic programming for lights on ETC boards.

• Basic programming of QLab for audio and projections.

• Comfortability working at heights and on a ladder.

• Ability to go up stairs as all booths will require this.

• A collaborative and kind attitude when working with artists/performers/other technicians.

• availability for most of tech and show dates.

• Able to communicate clearly and concisely with artists in their designated tech session to program all three elements (sound, lights, and projections) within their 3 hour tech time window.

Additional Skills/Abilities that are a plus:

• Any previous work with any of the three theaters and their equipment.

• Experience with wireless microphones.

• Experience with live-streaming.

• Fireguard Certification

Compensation: $18-21/hour
