DESCRIPTION

EPIC Players, a nonprofit, neuro-inclusive theater company, is seeking an experienced and imaginative Costume Designer for our upcoming production of Seussical the Musical. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a talented, inclusive Neurodivergent and Disabled ensemble dedicated to producing high-quality theater and expanding neuro-diverse representation in the arts.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, design, and oversee the creation of costumes that bring Seussical’s whimsical world to life while aligning with EPIC’s creative vision and inclusive mission.
• Collaborate closely with the director, cast, and creative team to ensure costumes support character development and accessibility needs.
• Source and construct costume pieces within a specified budget and timeline.
• Hire and manage costume labor including stitchers and wardrobe assistants
• Attend monthly production meetings with team and space.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in costume design, ideally in musical theater.
• Strong creative vision and ability to design for diverse body types and accessibility needs.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
