DESCRIPTION

New Off-Broadway musical is seeking an Assistant Director (“AD”). The AD will serve as a key individual within the company, working collaboratively with the Director and Stage Management team. This position requires someone who is a multi-tasker, and able to prioritize responsibilities. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, and excellent at on-their-feet problem solving.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Attending meetings regarding various production aspects, including, but not limited to, casting, special events, and rehearsal scheduling.

•Meeting and consulting with various production personnel as may be designated by the Director

•Attending and assisting the Director with auditions, casting calls, and rehearsals.

•Assisting the directing team on various other tasks as needed.

The desired experience and qualifications for this position include:

•Prior experience in the theatrical industry and in a directing capacity.

•Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to complete assigned tasks.

•Strong communication and good interpersonal skills; at ease relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds; ability to work effectively with teams, up, down and across organizational lines.
